Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are of the Toy breed classification. This small, friendly, and outgoing companion dog originally served as a lap dog to European royalty. As they grew in popularity, they have been bred in order to maintain the desired size and characteristics. The breed is known for its warm and gentle personality, and they make a great pet for families. Cavaliers have long, silky coats which can come in four accepted colors: Blenheim (red and white), Ruby (solid red), Tricolor (black, white, and tan) and Black and Tan.

The coat is medium-long with feathering on the ears, chest, and belly. Its fur is quite soft and wavy and it may have bits of long hair around the face and feet.
