It is a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Poodle, typically either a miniature or a toy poodle. Cavapoos are often called “designer dogs” because they are tailor-made to features a specific combination of traits from both their parent breeds. Generally, Cavapoos are friendly, intelligent, and tend to be rather social.
Cavapoos, a hybrid of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Poodle, have the potential to be hypoallergenic. The amount of shedding and the severity of an individual's allergy symptoms will typically determine whether this breed is right for them. Cavapoos can be bred with either a toy poodle or a miniature poodle, both of which generally shed far less than other breeds do. This helps to reduce the amount of allergen the individual might be exposed to, making Cavapoos a great option for individuals with allergies or asthma.
It is important to be knowledgeable about what food to feed your Cavapoo. In most cases, a high-quality canine kibble is a good choice and provides necessary nutrients for your pet. Cavapoos are known for their activity level and love for physical activity. Though their size may suggest low activity, their hybrid nature gives them the potential to be quite active. With proper nutrition, regular exercise and proper training, a Cavapoo can make an active and obedient pet. Additionally, Cavapoos can be great running partners and enjoy outdoor activities including playing fetch and Frisbee. Although, without proper exercise and training, Cavapoos can become frustrated, which can manifest as destructive or aggressive behavior.
