These adorable companions excel in obedience training and make wonderful additions to the family. In addition to being smart and loyal, Cavapoos have a number of other unique qualities. For instance, they have hypoallergenic coats, come in a variety of colors, and can range in size from small to medium. Cavapoos also have great exercise tolerances and can even adjust to life in an apartment setting.
Cavapoos are often thought to be hypoallergenic due to their lack of a thick coat, but this is not always the case. As a designer breed, there is a great deal of variation in the exact coat type that a Cavapoo may have, and some may have a thicker coat that causes an allergic reaction just as traditional dogs do. However, many Cavapoos do not shed as much as traditional dogs, and some may even produce less dander, which is what typically causes allergies.
Cavapoos are known for their intelligence and temperament. As such, it is important to feed your Cavapoo a nutritious, balanced diet that includes good quality proteins such as chicken, turkey, fish, and beef; healthy carbohydrates like brown rice and oatmeal; and lots of fresh vegetables and fruits. It is best to avoid feeding your Cavapoo processed foods, as these tend to be filled with added preservatives and artificial colors. While regular dog kibble is a good option, you may also want to consider adding homemade meals into your pooch's diet.

Cavapoo puppies can range in size from tiny toy size to slightly larger than toy size, typically between 8-20 pounds. While Cavapoos are considered to be a hybrid breed and can vary greatly in size and weight, the general consensus is that the range should be between 8-19 pounds and 8-12 inches in height based on parent breed size. As puppies age, it is possible for them to inch outside of this range. You should be able to get an estimate as to how big your particular pup will be based on the size of their parents.
Cavapoos are highly active dogs that require regular exercise to stay healthy and happy. Generally, they need at least 60 minutes of exercise per day divided into two or three walks.
