Cavapoos are a hybrid breed of dog, sometimes referred to as 'designer dogs'. Cavapoos are a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Miniature Poodle, resulting in a small, fluffy, and immensely lovable pup. Cavapoos make great family pets, because of their size and generally friendly personalities. They are loyal, social dogs, who are usually eager to please and love being with the family. Cavapoos are active and need attention and exercise, but are also content sitting on the sofa beside their owners.
Cavapoos are known to have a low-shedding coat, which makes them a great option for people with allergies or those who are looking for a dog that won't leave tufts of hair on the sofa! However, it is important to note that no dog completely "non-shedding". Cavapoos generally shed less than other breeds, and a frequent groom can help to reduce shedding. Additionally, some experts recommend weekly brushing and bathing to keep their coat healthy and reduce the amount of fur that may be shed, but this will vary depending on the dog's individual coat.
To determine what not to feed your Cavapoo, you should research what a Cavapoo's nutritional needs are. Research what types of food could be potentially harmful to their health and digestion. It's not recommended to feed your Cavapoo any food with potentially harmful ingredients, such as sugars, salt, preservatives, or additives. Additionally, avoid feeding them spicy or salty foods, as these can lead to vomiting and malnutrition. Certain food-stuffs, like chocolate and dairy products, may also not be well tolerated by Cavapoos as they are sensitive to them.
Before getting a Cavapoo, some essentials you should consider buying include a crate and bedding, collar and leash, and healthy food and treats. In addition, it is a good idea to purchase chew toys, a clicker and/or whistle for training, a brush and comb, and a pet shampoo if you plan on bathing your dog at home.
