Cockapoos are a mix between the Poodle and the Cocker Spaniel, and are considered to be one of the most popular designer breeds out there. They have a playful, but gentle personality and thrive around their owners. Cockapoos generally have good socialization skills, can be easily trained, and make excellent family companions. They usually weigh between 6 and 19 pounds and stand about 14 to 15 inches tall. Grooming requirements for Cockapoos are moderate to high, and should be brushed at least once every week to prevent tangles.
Cockapoos are considered to be a generally low-shedding breed, but they are not completely non-shedding. Their wavy coats tend to hold onto their hair rather than releasing it into the environment like more shedding breeds, but a small amount of shedding can be expected.
