A Cockapoo is a crossbreed between a Poodle and a Cocker Spaniel. These dogs are small to medium-sized, depending on the size of the parent breeds, have a soft coat, and are generally friendly and loving companions. They are intelligent, so they learn quickly and generally need only moderate exercise. Cockapoos are usually easy to train and can make the perfect family pet; they require minimal grooming and tend to get along with other animals and children. To adequately prepare your home for your new Cockapoo, you'll want to create a safe puppy area within your home. This means blocking off areas of your home where your pup shouldn't roam, such as in certain rooms or areas with furniture or other objects they could accidentally play too roughly with, and making sure any and all hazardous items are under lock and key. Additionally, you should make sure you have all the basic supplies before your pup arrives, such as food and water bowls, a comfortable bed, a collar and leash, and food and treats.
Cockapoos come in a variety of sizes, ranging from toy-sized (under 10 pounds) to large (over 20 pounds). Most Cockapoos are somewhere in the middle, between 10 to 20 pounds.
