A Cockapoo is a hybrid dog consisting of a cross between a Cocker Spaniel and a Poodle. These social, loving dogs can range in size from small to large depending on which breeds were used to create the hybrid, and their unique personalities can range from quiet and mellow to outgoing and energetic. Cockapoos typically have exceptionally soft, curly coats that come in a variety of colors and shades. Additionally, they are generally low-shedding and hypoallergenic.
Cockapoos are generally considered non-shedding dogs, due to their mixed heritage involving the Poodle which is widely considered non-shedding and Cocker Spaniel. This combination of parent breeds creates the hybrid, Cockapoo, which generally results in a pet that loses very little fur or hair. That said, there is still some shedding that can occur, but it will usually be far less than what is seen in many other dog breeds. Additionally, Cockapoos often have very complex, curly yet wavy coats which can reduce their levels of shedding further.
