A Cockapoo is a hybrid-breed, mixed between a Cocker Spaniel, (English or American) and a Poodle. Created by breeding Cocker Spaniels with Poodles, they are smart, loving family dogs that can range in size, depending on the size of their parents. The coat is usually a mix of the colors seen between the parents, usually resulting in a lovely, soft combination. Cockapoos have a gentle temperment and are loyal and friendly, getting along with all members of the household, including other pets.
The Cockapoo coat is a unique combination of a Cocker Spaniel's lush and thick fur mixed with a Poodle's curly texture. It ranges from wavy to curly, deeper and shorter to lighter and longer, and can even have variations in color and length. A Cockerpoo's coat may need brushing 2 to 3 times a week to keep it tangle-free, and it needs regular trimmings every 8-12 weeks. As your Cockapoo becomes more comfortable and skilled in training, the sessions may be extended to 30-60 minutes. You may also choose to break these sessions into multiple, shorter segments throughout the day.
