They are a hybrid breed of dog, first bred in the United States in the late 1960s by combining a Cocker Spaniel with a Poodle, making them highly intelligent with plenty of energy. Not only are they incredibly loyal and loving, they also do not shed, making them great for people with allergies. Additionally, Cockapoos have been bred in a variety of sizes, colors, and shapes.
The Cockapoo coat can vary depending on the parent breed. Generally, their coats are quite soft and can range from wavy to curly. They usually have a moderate length to their hair with no more than a couple of inches of length and it usually doesn’t shed much, although it can require frequent grooming and brushing. Cockapoos can come in various colors, including white, black, cream, shades of gray, and brown. Their coats can also contain other colors such as brown or red.
Cockapoos should not be fed dog food that is high in animal fat, as this can lead to weight gain and health issues in dogs.
