They are a great low to non-shedding hypoallergenic breed of dog that is also highly adaptable making them a great companion for anyone. One of the most interesting things about Cockapoos is that they have the comical and playful personality of a Poodle, combined with the sturdy and loyal nature of a Cocker Spaniel, making for a loyal and entertaining companion.
Cockapoos are not considered to be non-shedding dogs, however, they do shed much less than most other breeds. Cockapoos typically have the same basic parent breeds as other poodles, so they tend to inherit their low shedding qualities. Cockapoos do not have an undercoat like many larger breeds, so they are not prone to shedding large amounts of hair. They usually require grooming every six to eight weeks to keep their coats looking healthy and avoiding tangles.
