Another fun fact about dachshunds is that they come in three different coat types: short-haired, wire-haired, and long-haired. Dachshunds do, in fact, shed their coats to some degree. While they generally do not shed as much as some other dog breeds, they are not considered a low-shedding breed. Though they may not be the best choice for people with allergies, they make great furry friends-and with regular brushing and regular grooming, their shedding can be managed in order to keep your home clean.
