Fun fact: they are also known for their long, low-slung bodies and short legs, which make them great for following their quarry into narrower spaces hunting.
The Dachshund coat is a short and smooth coat that is typically reddish-brown in color with darker markings along the back and short legs. They have a luxurious, shiny and sleek texture that is weather resistant to numerous climates and is easy to maintain. The coat has an inner layer of insulation to keep them warm and protect them from the elements.
