Dachshunds, also known as wiener dogs, are some of the most beloved breeds of dogs in the world! They are great companions who love to spend time with their family and they have a playful and funny personality. Some fun facts about Dachshunds are that they are related to the Basset Hound; they come in three sizes and weigh anywhere from 16-32 lbs; their short legs and long back allows them to fit into small spaces; and the breed originated in Germany to hunt badgers.
Although Dachshunds are not considered to be in the same category as non-shedding breeds such as Poodles or Greyhounds, they are one of the breeds that tends to have a lower shedding rate and considerably less hair about the house. These adorable pups have beautiful coats, which usually consist of short fur on the body and longer fur on the ears, legs, and tail.
