They were so daring and brave that they were given the name "Dachshund," which means "badger dog" in German. Even today, Dachshunds carry this spirit of courage and tenacity, as they are known for their bold, independent-minded nature.
While Dachshunds are considered to be low-shedders, compared to other breeds, they are not truly non-shedding.
