They are a popular breed and are well known for their fun-loving demeanors and unique features such as their wide-set bat-like ears. Their small stature and outgoing personalities make them an ideal choice for many types of homes, and French Bulldogs make great companions for both young and old alike. They are easily distinguished by their short, broad muzzles, longer lower jaw, and wide-set eyes.
French Bulldogs are not considered to be non-shedding. However, they don't shed extensively like several other breeds, including some other kinds of Bulldogs. With a French Bulldog, their short, fine coat contains little undercoat resulting in minimal loose hair. This coat should be groomed weekly with part of the routine involving brushing to reduce loose hair. However, don't expect to be free from all shedding with a French Bulldog.
