French Bulldogs, sometimes referred to as "Frenchie," are an adorable little breed of companion dog that were originally bred to be a companion dog in the 1800s. French Bulldogs are part of the Non-Sporting Group, which are defined by the American Kennel Club (AKC) as having "no specific job" and were bred for their looks rather than their talent or abilities. French Bulldogs possess admirable personalities due to their even temperament and are known for being loving, loyal and entertaining.
French Bulldogs aren't officially classified as a hypoallergenic breed. That said, some people do find that they don't experience the same level of symptoms when near French Bulldogs as they do with other breeds. This may be because they are a relatively low shedding breed and have less of the allergens associated with high-shedding breeds. To help your allergy symptoms, frequent cleaning with a de-shedding brush helps to reduce the amount of dander in the air.
