The breed is easily recognizable with its golden coat, distinctive black nose, and powerful frame. They possess wonderful temperaments and have the intelligence to excel at tasks such as retrieving, agility, search and rescue, and competitive obedience.
Golden Retrievers are not hypoallergenic breeds; they have a double coat of medium length fur which is both water and dirt-resistant.
