This kind of breed is also classified as active and has a strong need to work in some capacity. Known for being intelligent and loyal, Golden Retrievers are very trainable and make excellent family pets. Their cheerful disposition makes them very pleasing companions. These dogs are well-mannered with strangers and, with proper socialization, typically gets along with other animals.
The Golden Retriever coat is thick, glossy, and slightly wavy and can come in different shades of gold, ranging from cream to a rich red-gold. It is water-repellent, which helps keep them warm and dry when they take a dip in the water. They also have a dense undercoat that helps keep them warm in cooler climates. While the coat does not like to mat or tangle, it will still need regular brushing to keep it healthy and clean. Of course, if you desire a more advanced level of training or want to train your pet to perform specific tasks, then you may need to invest more time, up to 45 minutes per day.
