Goldendoodles are also non-shedding, hypoallergenic, and have a range of colors including gold, white, black, tan, and even a mix of colors.
Goldendoodles are a mix of two hypoallergenic breeds, the Golden Retriever and the Poodle. It's not unheard of for people to be allergic to dogs, however Goldendoodles can often be a good choice if you have allergies because the Poodle mix can help to counteract the effects of the Retriever's coat. Additionally, avoid feeding your dog table scraps as these can disrupt a balanced diet. Similarly, avoid giving Goldendoodles chocolate, raisins, grapes and other foods that are poisonous to dogs.
To best prepare your home for a new Goldendoodle, you should first make sure your floors are puppy-proofed. Make sure the floor is not slippery and remove any sharp edges, such as furniture corner guards, that could be hazardous. You should have enough safe toys and durable chew bones for your puppy to play with. It is also important to ensure that all places they may explore, such as your garden or yard, are safe and clear of any potentially poisonous items.
Goldendoodles typically reach full-size maturity at around 12 to 15 months of age. On average, male Goldendoodles reach heights between 20 and 24 inches tall, while female Goldendoodles usually reach heights between 17 and 21 inches tall.
