Goldendoodles are a hybrid mix of two canine favorites, the Golden Retriever and Standard Poodle. As such, they do not fit into a specific breed classification, and depending on their generation they can be considered a designer breed, hybrid breed, or a multi-generational or multigenerational breed. Goldendoodles typically have a medium-length wavy coat, a gentle and loving nature, and are considered excellent family pets.
Goldendoodles are a mix between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle, which typically results in a low to non-shedding coat. On average, most Goldendoodles do not shed significantly more than a Poodle. Some Goldendoodles may still shed slightly, but it is typically only the guard hairs that are shed, and any shedding will usually be quite minimal. Though there are no guarantees that any Goldendoodle will be completely non-shedding, they are generally considered to be an excellent hypoallergenic choice for people with allergies.
Goldendoodles generally do not have any special dietary needs that are exclusive to the breed. However, as with all dogs, maintaining a healthy and balanced diet is essential to maintain optimal health. Most Goldendoodles will do well on a good quality, nutritionally balanced food that contains appropriate levels of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals. It's important to select a food that is appropriate for the age and activity level of your Goldendoodle. Before getting a Goldendoodle, there are some essential items you should purchase. Dog nail clippers, an elevated food bowl, a water bowl and food, a bed, a grooming brush, a leash and a collar, a pet carrier and a few toys. Additionally, it is important to ensure your home is Goldendoodle-proof by making any needed repairs and hiding any wires or other items that could cause your pup harm. It is also helpful to have doggy gates or baby gates that keep your pup contained in certain areas.
A Goldendoodle puppy's size when full grown is determined by the size of its parents. Mini Goldendoodles are typically the result of a miniature Poodle parent crossed with a Golden Retriever and will usually weight 15 to 25 pounds. A medium Goldendoodle's parents will usually be a miniature Poodle and a Standard Poodle and they will usually range from 25 to 45 pounds. A Standard Goldendoodle's parents are usually both Standard Poodles and they usually grow to be 45 to 75 pounds.

Not only is swimming fun for them, but it's also a great form of exercise for their powerful and muscular legs. Goldendoodles generally are highly intelligent and attentive, so teaching them how to swim can often be done quite easily.
