Goldendoodles are an interesting mix between two popular dog breeds, the Golden Retriever and the Poodle. As a result, these dogs are incredibly intelligent, loyal, and eager to please. They do not require nearly as much maintenance and grooming as a purebred Poodle, making them an ideal option for busy pet owners. Additionally, they possess an amazing energy level and are very protective of their family, making them an ideal companion animal. They also tend to have an outgoing personality, and are quite gentle with those they meet.
Goldendoodles are not considered to be hypoallergenic. Although they possess some of the allergy-friendly traits of their two parent breeds, the Golden Retriever and the Poodle, due to the fact that Goldendoodles are a hybrid breed, it has not been proven that they are truly hypoallergenic. This means that depending on the individual Goldendoodle, a person with allergies may still suffer different levels of adverse reactions to a Goldendoodle, just as they would with any other dog.
Goldendoodles, as any hybrid breed, require an individualized diet. Generally speaking, it is best to feed them a combination of high-quality, natural proteins, carbohydrates, essential fatty acids, and minerals; all properly balanced. In regard to the food specifically formulated for Goldendoodles, I suggest seeking out a high-quality dog food brand that uses natural, nutrient-rich ingredients and has a good mix of protein, healthy fats, vitamins, minerals, and fiber.
Before acquiring a Goldendoodle, it's essential to prepare the home for your new pup.
