Questions & Answers
Goldendoodles are a hybrid breed of dog, bred for the first time in North America in the late 1990s. They are a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Standard Poodle. Goldendoodles can come in many different colors, such as apricot, black, cream, gold, or red. They are often considered to be hypoallergenic and are good for people with allergies to dogs. Goldendoodles are usually friendly and good with children. They are intelligent and can be trained to do tricks.
No, Goldendoodles will not cause you to have allergies. Allergies are caused by a reaction to a specific allergen, such as pollen, dust, animal dander, or a specific food. Goldendoodles do not produce any of these allergens, so they will not cause an allergic reaction.
A Goldendoodle's diet should be filled with whole, unprocessed foods that are packed with nutrients. This means plenty of meat, vegetables, and healthy fats. A good rule of thumb is to aim for 50% meat, 40% vegetables, and 10% healthy fats in your Goldendoodle's diet. You can find high-quality, commercially-prepared dog food that meets these guidelines, or you can make your own dog food at home.
Before you bring your new Goldendoodle pup home, there are a few things you'll want to do to get your home ready. First, puppy-proof your house as much as possible. This means putting away any small objects that your puppy could choke on, covering or removing any electrical cords, and making sure any poisonous plants are out of reach. You'll also want to create a designated space for your puppy, complete with a cozy bed, food and water bowls, and plenty of toys.
Goldendoodles can be considered small dogs, depending on their adult size. Standard Goldendoodles typically reach heights between 24-26 inches (at the shoulder) and weigh 50-90 pounds as adults, while Medium Goldendoodles grow to be 18-22 inches tall and 40-50 pounds as adults. Meanwhile, Toy and Miniature Goldendoodles usually remain below 18 inches and 35 pounds, respectively, as adults. So, while adult size can vary significantly between individual Goldendoodles, many people consider Toy and Miniature Goldendoodles to be small dogs.
You can take your Goldendoodle running, but there are a few things to keep in mind. First, make sure your dog is in good shape and doesn't have any health problems that could be aggravated by exercise. Secondly, start slowly and build up to longer runs. And finally, be aware of the temperature if it's too hot or cold outside, it's not safe to take your Goldendoodle running.
Goldendoodles are great with kids! They are gentle, loving, and have a lot of energy, which kids love. They are also very intelligent, so they can learn tricks and commands easily.
You should train your Goldendoodles for at least 15 minutes per day.
