These intelligent, loyal, and friendly dogs come from a carefully bred combination of a Golden Retriever and a Poodle. As a result, Goldendoodles tend to be highly trainable and enjoy pleasing their owners. They are also extremely social and love to be around people. On the health side, Goldendoodles tend to live longer than dogs of the same size and may even be less susceptible to common canine diseases.
The Goldendoodle is known for its beautiful, wavy coat that is a mix of the Golden Retriever's soft, luxurious coat and the hypoallergenic Poodle's coat. This designer breed is incredibly low-shedding, and comes in a variety of colors, including cream, golden, apricot, red, black, brown, and a variegated coat of several colors.
Goldendoodles require a healthy, balanced diet that allows them to receive the right amount of protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals. Goldendoodles should also have access to fresh, clean water on a daily basis, either through their diet or through a drinking bowl. These items include food and water bowls, a leash, a collar, a brush, doggy shampoo, a bed, toys, puppy pads, crate, nail clippers, poop bags, and treats. Goldendoodles come in a variety of sizes, depending on lineage and the type of breeding that was utilized. Generally, Miniature Goldendoodles are between 14-18 inches tall at the shoulder and weigh 15-30 pounds. Medium Goldendoodles are 18-20 inches tall at the shoulder and weigh 30-45 pounds, while Standard Goldendoodles are 22-25 inches tall and weigh 50-90 pounds.
