They are a cross between Poodles and Golden Retrievers, usually taking on the playful, friendly personality of the Retriever while keeping the intelligence of the Poodle. As smart as they are, they are also easy to train and absolutely love being around people.
Goldendoodles, which are a popular crossbreed of Golden Retrievers and Standard Poodles, can be hypoallergenic depending on their particular characteristics. Generally speaking, the poodle is a hypoallergenic breed. However, if a Goldendoodle has more of the Golden Retriever's characteristics, then it is not technically hypoallergenic. Breeding the two breeds to ensure that the Goldendoodle is hypoallergenic is possible using a process called breeding back.
