They have been high-spirited and intelligent since their origin, as they come from a mix of the gentle and loyal Golden Retriever and the smart and energetic Standard Poodle. This has resulted in excellent levels of intelligence and gentleness throughout the breed, making Goldendoodles quite receptive to training and an overall ideal pet.
Goldendoodles are often considered a low to non-shedding breed, however this is not always the case. A Goldendoodle's shedding or lack thereof is largely dependent upon its coat type and its genetics. An F1 Goldendoodle (parented by a Poodle and Golden Retriever) typically has a low-shedding coat and may require less frequent grooming than some of its counterparts.
Goldendoodles are generally a very healthy breed of dog and usually do not have any special dietary needs. That being said, it is still important to feed them a well-balanced, nutritious diet and provide them with appropriate amounts of exercise. It's important to provide them with the right proportion of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats as well as vitamins and minerals.
