A Goldendoodle is a designer breed of dog created by mixing a Golden Retriever with a Poodle. They are known for their hypoallergenic coat and even temperament. Goldendoodles are intelligent, friendly and loyal, making them an ideal addition to any family. They are also relatively low-maintenance requiring only regular brushing and grooming. Goldendoodles make excellent playmates for children and are usually very affectionate towards other animals. They have a lifespan of 10 to 15 years and have become very popular over the past decade.
Goldendoodles are often considered to be a hypoallergenic breed due to their coats being made up of two parent breeds that are both deemed hypoallergenic. The Goldendoodle's coat is a mix of its two parent breeds, the Golden Retriever and the Poodle, each of which is considered to be hypoallergenic. Goldendoodles may be of a smaller breed, but do not generally fall into the category of "small dogs". They usually stand anywhere from 14 24 inches tall and weigh from 15 45 pounds, which is on the larger side of "small dogs".
