They are intelligent and highly trainable, which makes them great therapy or service dogs. When it comes to exercise, Havaneses enjoy moderate activity such as long walks or a play session in the yard. Grooming for Havaneses takes place on a weekly basis and includes brushing, bath and nail trimming.
The Havanese coat is a beautiful, luxurious double-coat that is silky, soft, and textured. It comes in multiple colors such as white, cream, gold, chocolate, and even parti-colors. The topcoat is slightly wavy or curly and the undercoat is soft and cushiony, giving a cushiony feel to the touch.
