Havaneses are an incredibly special breed of small, fluffy dog that has a trademarked silver-tipped coat. Not only are they beautiful to look at, they are also often referred to as Velcro-dogs for their strong bond to those whom they meet. Fun facts about these cuddly canines include that they have been known to remain amazingly playful and active, often into their senior years, and are known to be exceptionally loving and loyal to those they consider family.
The Havanese coat is long, silky, and may be slightly wavy. It often has a "fluffy" look due to its dense undercoat, and this is accentuated by the longer guard hairs of the overcoat. This breed's coat may come in a variety of colors such as black, white, cream, gold, tan, or a mix of colors. The Havanese breed is an excellent choice for those who want a low maintenance dog as the coat does not require much brushing or grooming.
