Havaneses are a spunky toy breed originating from Cuba. Though small in size, they have big personalities and have often been referred to as a “big dog in a small body”. Due to a change in their breed standard in the 20th century, Havaneses come in many colors including solid colors (black, white, cream and silver) and a mix of two colors (sable and white, black and white, etc). Their average lifespan is between 12-14 years, and these playful pooches love being around their human families and showing off their tricks.
The Havanese coat is silky, long, and rather profuse! It is non-shedding, making it an ideal pet. This luscious and luxuriant coat comes in a wide range of colors, including white, cream, gold, chocolate, and black. The coat is profusely and evenly distributed throughout the body, giving the dog a shaggy and fluffy appearance.
