This gave them an ability to learn quicker than many other breeds, making them one of the most popular companion breeds in the world. Apart from this, Havaneses are very curious by nature, always looking to explore their surroundings, they are also very distinguished with a unique double-coat perfect for any season, plus they are very playful and often termed the class clown of the Dog Kingdom.
The Havanese coat is a luxurious, double-coated breed with a variety of colors, such as white, cream, gray, sable, black and silver. The outer coat is long, silky, and slightly wavy, while the undercoat is soft and dense. The coat is non-shedding and non-allergenic which makes it an excellent breed for those with allergies. On average, the coat length should reach the elbow and can be trimmed, but traditionally it is left long.
