A Havanese is a small and cute dog breed, that was bred in Cuba and has become increasingly popular outside of the country. They have a friendly and sociable disposition, that draws people to them. They are compact, lightweight, yet muscular small dogs with a compact top line, a wavy or curly, long coat mostly seen in shades of white, that adds to their cuteness. Along with their plush and luxurious coat, they have a broad face, a gentle expression, and large dark eyes.
The Havanese has a beautiful, luxurious coat that can range in color from pure white to a café au lait hue. The coat is short, double-coated and silky, which gives it a unique look. The texture of the coat may be curly or wavy, but it should never be coarse or caused by matting. Regular grooming is important in order to keep the coat free from mats and tangles. The coat should be groomed with a comb and Poodle comb to keep it in its best condition.
