Havaneses are playful and obedient, and they don't require a lot of basic obedience training, which makes them a great pet for family households. Additionally, they are energetic and require regular exercise to keep them in good health yet they don't need a lot of space.
The Havanese has a long, silky, luxurious coat that is softer than cashmere and resembles human hair in texture. Its coat is usually wavy, though it can also be entirely straight or curly. It can vary in density, from a thin, single-layer coat to a thick, thoroughly-covered double coat. Many owners prefer to keep their Havanese trimmed short for ease of care, as the long, luxurious coats require more maintenance.
