Due to their intelligence, they are easy to train and make excellent house pets. Grooming needs for this breed are fairly minimal, as they have a single coat that does not require frequent brushing. Havaneses enjoy getting exercise, although, due to their size, they can tire easily and should not be walked for too much at once.
The Havanese breed of dog has a unique coat that can come in a variety of colors and textures. Generally considered the only type of purebred dog native to Cuba, the Havanese coat is silky and lightweight that gives them an almost cottony look and feel. Its length can range from medium to long, and the coat can be straight, wavy, or even curly.
