Labradors have webbed feet which make them great swimmers. They were first bred by Newfoundland fishermen to help them with retrieving fish from the cold waters. The breed actually originate from Canada, not Labrador. They are known to have very high levels of intelligence, and have even been trained to detect illegal drugs or explosives.
Not all people who experience allergies have the same symptoms, so it can be hard to say definitively whether a Labrador Retriever will cause someone to have allergies. However, Labradors, like many breeds, are known to produce a high level of dander, which can trigger allergic reactions in some people. Labrador Retrievers, also known as Labs, are typically medium-sized dogs and can reach up to around 65 pounds for males, and 55 pounds for females.
