Labrador Retrievers are an intelligent and loyal breed of dog that make wonderful companions. Although known more for their good natured personalities, they are a hard-working breed that have been used as assistance dogs, hunting dogs, and search and rescue animals. Generally, they are considered an easy breed to train and excel when given a clear expectation and consistent reinforcement. Labradors have a thick double coat that can range from light yellow to a deep black.
The Labrador Retriever is renowned for its luxurious coat, which typically consists of a thick, short-medium length double coat that is water resistant. The outer coat is straight and abundant, with the undercoat being slightly softer and slightly shorter. Their coat may vary in color from shades of yellow, chocolate, red, and black.
