Labrador Retrievers are an incredibly intelligent and loyal breed, known for their good-natured dispositions and love of playing. They have become a popular breed for families because of their willingness to please, making them a very trainable dog. They need lots of exercise, both mental and physical, and they need to be around people who can provide them with consistent, positive training. As loyal family dogs, they have the capacity for great patience and love with children. They have thick, double coats that are water-resistant and come in three varieties: black, yellow and chocolate.
Although Labrador Retrievers can cause allergies in some people, they are generally considered to be a low-allergen breed.
