Labrador Retrievers are an incredibly interesting breed of dog, with a long and storied history, and are well-loved by many around the world. They are incredibly intelligent and learn quickly. In addition, they have a pleasing disposition and make wonderful family pets. Their intelligence and gentle nature also make them ideal guide and search companion dogs. They also have a great deal of stamina, making them successful in hunting, swimming, tracking and retrieving. Finally, they have a special affinity with children of all ages.
Labradors are known for their luxurious, thick double coats that provide excellent protection against cold temperatures. They have soft, water-repellent undercoats and dense, straight outer coats that come in many colors, including black, yellow, and chocolate.
