Labrador Retrievers belong to the sporting breed class. They are a loyal, friendly, and easily trainable breed, accustomed to both working and living with people. Labrador Retrievers are strong, energetic, and eager waterfowl hunters with a broad chest and medium length tail. As retrievers, they have the instinct to not just hunt, but also to bring prey back to their handlers. They are excellent swimmers and make good all-purpose working dogs and companions for active people.
