Labrador Retrievers are a class of medium-sized, rugged, hardworking gun dogs. Bred to be strong water retrievers, they have webbed feet, a tail like an otter, and a thick, water-resistant double coat to help them be successful swimmers. Labradors are known for their quick wit, eagerness to please, and strong desire to work. They tend to be gentle, loyal companions, and excellent family dogs, and are highly intelligent, making them easy to train. Labradors are among the most versatile and popular breeds.
Labrador Retrievers generally do have a shedding coat, which means some fur will be left behind when they're brushed or petted.
