They are also incredibly versatile – Labradors are bred for tasks ranging from hunting and retrieving to working on farms or as therapy dogs. In terms of appearances, Labradors are easily recognizable; their iconic short, stocky frame and thick, waterproof coat give them a unique look. On top of all their wonderful traits, Labs have an incredibly strong bond to humans, making them ideal for families and companionship.
The Labrador Retriever is known for its thick, soft coat. Its coat is composed of two types of hair: short, dense outer layers to repel water and long, soft inner layers to keep the dog warm and dry. Generally, the coat is black, chocolate, or yellow. It is also common to see white markings on the chest, feet, or face of the lab.
