They're incredibly intelligent, but can easily become bored if not given a mentally stimulating environment. Labs are active dogs and require plenty of exercise, both physical and mental. As they mature they become more independent, but it's important to continue providing consistent training research has found that this breed responds best to positive reinforcement.
