A Labrador Retriever is a medium-sized breed of dog, originating in Newfoundland, Canada. They are extremely friendly, loyal and intelligent, making them a great choice for a family pet. They are an energetic breed, well suited for a wide range of activities such as jogging and agility courses. Labradors are also considered to be very good with young kids, as they are good-natured and gentle. Although they require plenty of exercise and stimulation, they are equally as happy curled up on the couch next to their family.
Labrador Retrievers are not considered non-shedding dogs. Most Labradors shed some fur throughout the year, and more during the times when they experience seasonal shedding.
