Maltipoos are a unique dog breed, not recognized by the American Kennel Club; however, they are definitely a popular hybrid canine companion. These dogs are the result of cross-breeding a Maltese and a Poodle, and they are known for their intelligence, loyalty, and affectionate personalities. Maltipoo typically range in size from 5 to 20 pounds, and because they are a hybrid, their coat can be curly, wavy, or straight.
Maltipoos are a relatively low-shedding breed, but that doesn't mean they don't shed completely. These dogs will still shed some hair but it is usually going to be a manageable amount. With regular brushing and some patience, you can keep shedding to a minimum. Therefore, while Maltipoos are not a completely non-shedding breed, they will shed far less than other breeds, making them easier to manage and groom.
Giving Maltipoos food that is not appropriate for them can be detrimental to their health and well-being. It is recommended to avoid feeding them human food such as processed foods, fried foods, refined carbohydrates, high-fat dairy products, salty snacks, or anything with added sugar, like candy and soft drinks. Never give a Maltipoo any form of chocolate, as it is toxic for dogs.
