The most interesting and unique thing about this designer breed is their combination of characteristics from two very different breeds: the Maltese and the Poodle. This combination results in a breed of intelligent, playful dogs with a gentle temperament. Their hypoallergenic coat and minimal shedding makes them ideal for those with allergies.
Managing allergies with Maltipoos may require several steps to ensure that your pup and your allergies remain in balance. First, bathe your pup at least once a week or more often if necessary to ensure their coat is clear of allergens. Additionally, choose to use an appropriate shampoo that is designed to combat allergies in dogs, which can provide a temporary relief for both you and your pup. Regular brushing, preferably every day, can also help to remove excess fur and dander, as both can be primary triggers of allergies.
Maltipoos should avoid foods that are high in sugar, salt, or fat.
