They originated in the United States in the early 2000s and have steadily grown in popularity ever since. Maltipoos are known for their intelligence, activity level and trainability. Furthermore, they usually maintain a puppy-like personality throughout their lives and are considered to be great family pets. They are also usually hypoallergenic, meaning that they are less likely to cause allergic reactions.
Maltipoos are generally considered hypoallergenic as they are a cross between a Maltese and a Poodle, and both are traditionally regarded as non-shedding, low dander breeds. This means they do not emit the same allergens that other breeds would, however, it is important to note that some people can still be allergic to Maltipoos, as no dog is 100% hypoallergenic.
