Questions & Answers
Maltipoos are a designer breed of dog, created by crossing a Maltese and a Toy or Miniature Poodle. They can be either solid-colored or have a white coat with patches of other color. Generally, Maltipoos are friendly and social dogs; they get along well with people and other pets. They are also highly intelligent, making them easy to train. Plus, Maltipoos are considered low-shedding and hypoallergenic, making them a great option for people with allergies.
Maltipoos are a hybrid breed, created by crossing a Maltese and a Poodle, and are generally considered to be non-shedding. Because of this, they are commonly sought after by those who have allergies or simply want to stay away from the mess associated with more heavy shedding breeds. The Maltipoo can be either born with hair more similar to a Maltese or with curls more like the Poodle, or a combination of both – all of which makes them a very desirable pet.
You should not feed Maltipoos any foods that contain alcohol, caffeine, chocolate, garlic, onions, or raisins as these can be toxic to them. Avoid feeding your Maltipoo table scraps, or other people's food as it can upset their stomach or contribute to obesity. Keep an eye on your Maltipoo when they are around any human food, as they are prone to eating anything they can get their paws on! It is important to stick with a high-quality, balanced diet specifically designed for Maltipoos.
Before adding a Maltipoo to your family, it is essential that you have the necessary items to care for him or her. To start, you'll need a crate, bedding, blankets, food and water bowls, a collar and leash, a brush, food, and vet-approved flea and tick treatment. You should also have chew toys, treats, a toothbrush and toothpaste specifically designed for dogs, as well as an a appropriate-sized crate for transporting your Maltipoo in a car.
Maltipoos, also known as a Maltese-Poodle mix, vary in size depending on their parent breeds. As such, there is no uniform size for Maltipoo puppies. Some may mature to be as small as five to nine pounds, while others may be as large as 15-20 pounds. The most important factor when predicting the size of a Maltipoo is the size difference between the parent breeds, so be sure to ask the breeder about the sizes of the parents.
Generally, an adult Maltipoo should have at least 30 minutes of aerobic exercise per day and a good walk is one of the best ways to provide this. Depending on your pet's age, health condition, and lifestyle, you may want to adjust the length of the walk accordingly. A younger, healthier dog may need more time to get the full benefits of exercise, whereas an older or less active pet may need less time. In addition to the length of the daily walk, it is important to vary the location or route to keep your pet mentally stimulated.
Maltipoos are excellent companions for first time owners! They are usually low-shedding, making them an ideal match for people who may have allergies, and their small size makes them easy to take care of. Maltipoos are known to be alert, intelligent dogs who are very social and get along well with other pets and children. They are typically less yappy and stubborn than other breeds, so even owners with little to no previous experience can train and train them with relative ease. Additionally, Maltipoos need minimal exercise, making them an easy fit for busy lifestyles.
Training your Maltipoo is not complicated, but it is important that you are consistent, patient, and kind. A good way to start is to introduce your pup to basic commands such as 'sit' and 'come'. Start by standing a few feet away from your pup and saying one of the commands. Praise them if they respond. If they don’t respond, consider providing a treat or toy as a reward when they do obey a command. Also, it can be helpful to set aside a specific time or location each day to practice the commands.
