Maltipoos are a hybrid breed of cross between a Maltese and a Poodle. They are incredibly intelligent dogs and can be easily trained to both basic and complex commands. Maltipoos are usually around 10 – 15 inches tall and can weigh up to around 18 – 20 pounds. They have a double coat which is usually curly and can come in a variety of colors and shades. Although Maltipoos are relatively low maintenance and can be groomed at home, regular trips to the groomer are essential to keep their coat in good condition.
The coat of a Maltipoo can range from fine and silky to dense and wiry, depending on the type of Poodle the Maltese is bred with. The coat colors of a Maltipoo usually vary depending on the parents and genetics. For instance, black or gray from the poodle parent tend to mix with white, tan and cream shades from the Maltese parent. The Maltipoo's coat may be slightly wavy or straight and it is usually hypoallergenic due to its low shedding properties.
