One of the most interesting things about Maltipoos is that they are a hybrid breed between a Maltese and a Miniature or Toy Poodle. As a result, Maltipoos are known for being affectionate, intelligent, spunky, and having a beautiful, teddy-bear like coat. They come in a variety of coat colors, including apricot, cream, white, red, and black, and can range from 8-15 pounds when full grown.
A meaningful way to reduce the risk of allergies with a Maltipoo is to ensure they have regular grooming and baths, which will help minimize the allergy-causing dander and reduce dust and other allergens. Vacuuming or sweeping regularly can also help to limit exposure to allergens. Managing the environment is also important and can include investing in allergen-bearing filters and HEPA filters for the HVAC system, using dust mite bed covers, and avoiding carpeting. Additionally, wash bedding and regularly groom your pet with hypoallergenic shampoos.

The total amount of time may vary depending on the individual dog, but in general, Owners should plan to spend between 15-30 minutes daily reinforcing commands and providing structure through positive and consistent training. Additionally, Owners should take a few moments in the morning and at night to review basic commands (e.g. Sit, Stay, Come). Providing additional exercises (i.e. mental stimulation) is also encouraged as it will keep the pup alert, engaged, and well behaved.
