Maltipoos, also known as Maltepoos or Malt-Doodles are a crossbreed mix between Toy or Miniature Poodles and Malteses. They usually have a long, wavy or curly haired coat that comes in an array of colors, including white, black, gray, apricot or a mix of colors. Maltipoos are known to be friendly and gentle personalities who also have a playful and cheerful side. They often become very attached to their human companions and can even have some separation anxiety.
Maltipoos, which are a cross-breed between maltese and poodles, are considered to be hypoallergenic and non-shedding. Though no breed is completely hypoallergenic, the Maltipoo could be a great choice for those who have a tendency to be hypersensitive to pet allergens. It is important to note that regardless of breed, all pets have the potential to cause an allergic reaction.
Maltipoos are a hybrid of two other breeds: the Maltese and the Toy Poodle. As such, their dietary needs will vary depending on the breeds they are more closely related to. Generally speaking, it's a good idea to provide them with a diet that includes natural sources of antioxidants, fatty acids, amino acids, minerals, and vitamins such as fresh fruits and vegetables, whole-grain bread and cereal, whole-grain rice, lean meats, eggs, and fish.
