Maltipoos are a designer dog breed, a mix between a Maltese and a Poodle. They are usually small to medium in size, rarely exceeding 20 lbs. Maltipoos are known to be very intelligent, loyal, loving and sociable animals that make fantastic family dogs. They have low-to-non shedding coats that come in a variety of colors. They require daily exercise, such as walks and running. They also need to be groomed regularly to keep their coats from matting. Maltipoos have a long life span, usually about 12 to 14 years.
Maltipoos, which are a mix between a Maltese and Poodle, can sometimes be hypoallergenic. It really depends on the genetics of the individual dog, as every dog's coat is different. Hypoallergenic dogs produce less dander, which is what triggers allergies in some people. To help make sure you don't react to the dog's dander, it's important to talk to the breeder and see the mother and father of the Maltipoo to identify if either of the parent dogs is hypoallergenic.
Maltipoos, a crossbred of a Maltese and a Poodle, are playful dogs who require the right diet to stay healthy and active. As such, they should be fed a high-quality, nutritionally balanced diet consisting of meats, grains, and vegetables. During adulthood, depending on activities and health issues, you should feed your Maltipoo between one-half and one cup of dry kibble per day, split into two smaller meals.
